We just dropped somewhere around $1200 for the materials to homeschool our children next year (again).
Every month as part of a mortgage note, we pay a little piece of several thousand dollars in taxes to the local school district.
The local school district does not educate our children. Or any of the children warehoused there but that's another story.
Why, then, do we not get the money that we pay to educate our children, back from the State? School vouchers, anyone?
Oh, that's right. The teacher's union lobby. You stay bold, Texas legislature. For those who don't know, we have a communist "rob from the rich to pay the poor" method of funding school districts here in Texas. Every year, the politicians raise a fuss about it and every year the teachers union lobby somehow manages to convince enough of our Elected Heroes not to vote against the destruction of the union's power base.
