Right-click on your Windows XP desktop
Select Properties
Click the Appearances tab
Click the Effects button
Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts: ClearType

Click My Computer
Open the Control Panel
Open the Clear Type Tuning applet
Adjust the settings to suit your personal preference.
