Police Behaving Badly, Mumbai Edition

Unless you were under a rock this weekend, you have heard that the muslim terrorists were at it again, in India this time.

What you may not have heard is that at least some of the police over there are worthless pieces of [deleted] that should have been #1 with a bullet not as brave as the reporter who took this picture.

One could wish that he had pulled a policeman's pink thong into an atomic wedgie, grabbed his service weapon and done some justice right then and there, but monday morning quarterbacks can just keep their mouth shut on this one, unless they have already seen the elephant.

One could also point out that a single armed citizen with a decent rifle could have put a stop to these shenanigans in the train station and possibly elsewhere. One person with a rifle can make a difference. Even a well-placed pistol shot could do it. But of course, someone who can pass the background check to buy a gun is probably going to automatically turn into the type of person who never bothers with paying for guns anyway, so lets just ban the whole kit 'n' kaboodle.

And then of course, you can always depend on the police to do your fighting for you. For example, we have this glowing review of the police activity at the Chhatrapati Shivaji train station:
"At one point, I ran up to them and told them to use their weapons. I said, 'Shoot them, they're sitting ducks!' but they just didn't shoot back."

Sure, leaving it to the only ones professional enough will certainly lead to fewer civilian casualties.
